Paper Tower

On 10th of July 2017,in our PPD session we were given a small project to build a paper tower by our madam Mrs.Sarasi.We were divided into 3 groups each group contains with 8 members.Our madam gave us 3 places for each group and we were given only 45 minutes to complete this project and she gave us 12 white sheets,which includes a black arrow mark design and a pair of scissors for each group and asked to do the project within the given time by only using the given resources.

Our Group

In our group there were 8 people,Suthesana,Hirushka,Shehara,Atheesh,Tedy,Keshara,Anura and myself(Standing Left to Right).We appointed Keshara as our team leader to lead us.

Plan

We were asked to build a long paper tower which should be strong and straight at the same time.When we started we haven't had a clear idea to start,however after discussing for a while we came up with a good plan.We discussed to build a tall and strong tower and we started to work.

Challenges

When we were working we faced some problems.When we were doing the tower become slanting because we haven't provided a strong basement.So we have to focus on that matter,So we had to give some extra support for the bottom of the tower.

Finishing and Results

By 9.15 we were asked to stop,Even though we couldn't finish it successfully we have managed to finish it.After that our paper towers were kept in a place and the height,strongness were compared by our madam.Our group tower was taller and stronger than Sineth's group tower but, Chamod's group tower was the tallest and strongest tower.Sineth's group tower is less slanting when comparing to other two.

What I learnt?

From this lesson I have learnt a lot of things.They are planning before doing,Team working,Working with given requirements and Team working.
                                                                      Before doing something the first thing that we should concern is planning.We should plan from starting to finish then only we can finish it succesfully and also when we are working with a team we should take opinions and suggestions from others and get the best of it and we should obey the team leader.Next thing is we should work within the given time and given resources.
