Lava River & standing on the paper

Our lecture gave a papers to each team to take the challenges. In the first challenge all team members should stand on a given paper.

In 1st round our lecturer has given a command, we all have to stand on paper. She will notice our actions on paper. It was a challenge for every crew to take the feet off the paper.
In the 2nd round sheet was folded into two, it was difficult to keep all the legs on the paper, our commitment descended down. 3rd round was folded into three.

In the 2nd challenge all team members have to get safely across the lava river. Participants do not touch the river, so you have to use the sheets for security.

We were able to pass our members to the 1st round. We try to be individuals or two to across the river. But in the 2nd round we could not do that. All the members of the team had to participate in the same time.

If any group is out of the paper for a specified period of time, a group will removed from challenge.
Finally the winner was concluded by total points.

Egg protecting cover

In our PPD lesson we did another wonderful activity that called egg protecting activity.
Our lecture divided pupils in equal three teams and gave an egg to each team. We need to protect that egg from breaking when we throw that from the top with given five A4 sheets and cello tape. She gave 45 minutes time to make it.

Life Goals

At this time we made a life-key activity in our lecture. We focus on the goal of our lives as a separate activity at our lecture. Our lecturer told us to come with a bristle board, in which we should design a clear description of our living goals. So we first divide our goals into three main categories.

  1. Academic goals
  2. Professional goals
  3. Personal goals

Barter Puzzle

In our PPD session we did another interesting activity as Puzzle.

We were divided into three groups, and I was in the third group.
Then our miss asked a person to come front from each group. She gave an advertisement paper to that each person and asked to see it as a group for a minute. She once again asked another person come front from each group. She gave a scissor to each two persons and to cut that advertisement paper into hundred pieces. Then mixed the hundred pieces asked together and toke ten pieces in each group and mixed that also with other groups. Then all the groups were asked to solve the puzzle in 45 minutes.

Learning outcome

  • Working as group.
  • Planning before working.
  • Time management.
  • Situations handling.
  • Decision making.

Lava River and Stand on the Paper

On our last PPD session which was held on the 18th of October 2017 was quite interesting. We had some interesting games in that session. We did Stand on the Paper and Lava River on that day.

Stand on the Paper

At the beginning of the session we were divided into three groups to play Stand on the Paper. In our group there were 7 people,The task given was,all the members of the group had to stand on the paper without tearing the paper. Then  the paper was folded into two and the same task given. In the first two tasks all the three teams could manage to do that but next the paper was folded again and this time other two teams failed and we could manage as well and the next step we too failed to do.We manged to win this game because we get the balance from all of our members. That was the first time that we had such experience and it was quite interesting as well.Through this game we learnt how to manage with the limited resources, time management, working as a team, etc.

Lava River

In the next half of our session we played Lava River.Again we were divided into groups of three. In this game each time was given five paper plates and the task given was to cross the river without touching the Lava in the given time. Each team had various plans and we carried the people on the shoulders and cross the river. We had some experience in this game as we played this game earlier.Through this game we learnt time management, working with group, leadership, etc.

What is Personal Progress Development?

Personal progress development is a lifelong process. It is a way for people to assess their skills and qualities, consider their aims in life and set goals in order to realise and maximize their potential. This helps us to develop our soft skills. We can share our plans and thoughts with others.

.

  • Self Awareness
  • Self knowledge.
  • Skills and learning new ones.
  • Building or renewing identity/self-esteem.
  • Strengths and talents.
  • Identifying potential.

Self Awareness

Self Awareness is having a clear perception of your personality, including strengths,

weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions.Self Awareness allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and your responses to them in the moment. We might quickly assume that we are self aware, but it is helpful to have a relative scale for awareness. With practice we can learn to engage these types of heightened states and see new opportunities for interpretations in our thoughts, emotions, and conversations. Having awareness creates the opportunity to make changes in behavior and beliefs.

Self Knowledge

Self knowledge usually means one of two things.knowledge of one’s particular mental states or knowledge of one’s own nature. To have self knowledge in the first of these senses is to know one’s particular sensations, experiences, and propositional attitudes (beliefs, desires, and so on). Much of the recent literature has concentrated on self knowledge in this sense. To have self knowledge in the second sense is to know one’s own ontological nature, or less abstract characteristics, such as one’s own character, abilities, or values. Several different questions can be asked about self-knowledge.

Skills and Learning new ones

Over the next few years the world of contract work is undoubtedly going to get more competitive. You many need something extra to really stand out. Sometimes unusual combinations of skills can result in you having a unique selling point. Are you a programmer who also knows about accessibility? Are you a graphic designer who can also write great copy? Merge your talent and your passions to find creative combinations that make you more marketable.
